Introduction
Welcome to the Continuum GRC Examiner Onboarding Guide.
In this walkthrough, we’ll cover the essential navigation, tools, and workflows you’ll use during assessments. By the end of this training, you should feel confident locating assigned projects, reviewing controls, managing evidence submissions, and tracking action items within the Continuum GRC platform.
Let’s get started.
Logging Into Continuum GRC
Your first step is accessing the correct Continuum GRC environment.
Before logging in, always confirm you are using the appropriate platform, such as Subscribers or S-2. You can verify this by checking the browser’s URL bar.
Logging into the incorrect environment may prevent assigned projects or forms from appearing.
Examiner Dashboard — Priorities Page
Once logged in, you’ll arrive at the Priorities page, which serves as your examiner dashboard.
This page provides a real-time overview of your assigned projects, risk indicators, and action items.
The dashboard is divided into three main areas.
On the left, you’ll see your assigned projects.
In the center, you’ll find status and risk indicators that track assessment progress.
On the right, you’ll see action items and assigned control groups.
If a project is missing from your dashboard, notify Project Management so they can confirm your assignment within Teamwork, as this integration controls visibility.
Understanding Entry Modes
Under the Continuum GRC logo, you’ll see several entry options.
View Entry places you in reader mode, where edits cannot be made but statuses can still be reviewed.
Edit Entry allows you to update control documentation and responses.
Expand Control Group provides a shortcut overview of assigned controls and their progress.
Selecting the correct mode helps ensure accurate workflow management during assessments.
Managing Assigned Projects
Within the left panel, use the entity search bar to quickly locate clients.
Always confirm your user role displays as Examiner before beginning work.
Selecting the correct project is essential to ensure documentation updates apply to the intended assessment.
Status and Risk Indicators
The center panel allows you to organize assessment modules based on your workflow preference.
You may sort modules by completion percentage, highest risk, number completed, or items needing attention.
Green progress bars represent completion status, while red indicators reflect overall risk levels.
These tools help examiners quickly identify priorities and maintain awareness across multiple engagements.
Searching Forms and Data
Two search functions help you locate information quickly.
Search Form Titles allows you to find specific modules.
Search Form Data searches directly within submitted responses or documentation.
These tools are especially useful when managing complex or multi-client environments.
Action Items and Control Assignments
The right panel displays action items assigned by your assessor.
You can filter by priority, due date, or status.
Expanding this panel allows full-screen review and direct navigation into assigned tasks.
Control Groups provide a quick overview of assigned controls and allow you to mark items complete once finished.
Completion updates automatically synchronize with Teamwork.
Working Within Forms
Inside the Forms tab, begin by selecting the entity you wish to work on.
Next, select the parent assessment form associated with the engagement.
Expanding the parent form reveals child forms that organize assessment components.
You may either enter the full form through Entries or jump directly into specific control groups using shortcut tiles.
Assessment Navigation
Within the assessment workspace, completion percentage and risk indicators appear on the left.
You may navigate using page view, full view, or page numbers depending on your preference.
Choose whichever workflow helps you stay efficient during reviews.
Controls can be assigned to yourself or a partner using the assignment icon.
Once work is completed, selecting Mark Complete updates progress tracking automatically.
Status Indicators and Evidence Tracking
The View Status feature provides an overview of assessment progress.
Not Started indicates untouched controls.
User Updated shows new client submissions.
Needs Attention flags items requiring follow-up.
Under Review indicates assessor evaluation.
Complete confirms approval.
Similarly, the File Upload Status Overview tracks evidence submissions and highlights missing or updated documentation.
These tools help ensure nothing is overlooked during assessment preparation.
Edit Mode vs Review Mode
Edit Entry Data allows you to modify documentation when updates are required.
Review Entry Data places the form into a read-only state for validation purposes.
Available actions change depending on which mode you select, so always confirm your workflow before proceeding.
Files and Evidence Management
The Files tab provides a centralized location for uploaded evidence.
Here, you can view file names, associated controls, upload details, and timestamps.
You may also navigate directly to the related field within the assessment.
Reports and Dashboards
Within Reports, select the desired assessment form and generate documentation for audit preparation or leadership review.
Dashboards allow you to track report history and create new reporting views.
Available templates include executive summaries, compliance dashboards, implementation status reports, and POAM tracking.
User Management
Within the Users tab, examiners can manage platform access.
You may add new users, suspend accounts, or remove access as necessary.
When creating users, remind them to check spam folders if invitation emails do not arrive immediately.
