The definition of Ignorant is “resulting from or showing lack of knowledge or intelligence”.

When someone reads your audit report, what will they perceive about you and about our company?

The CEO reviews your audit documentation in our mandatory quality assurance project phase. The customer does not receive the project deliverables until the QA process is completed.

Your responsibility as an auditor is to document completely, accurately, succinctly, and on target with the control requirement. Never produce documentation that exceeds the control requirements, commonly known as “Scope Creep”. Never produce documentation that is riddled with grammar, spelling and formatting errors.

Sending documentation that is poorly written to your teammates, and more significantly, to the CEO and the client, will make you look like the Ignorant Auditor, make the company look bad, and stifle your tenure with the company.

All our software tools have proofreading capabilities integrated in them. If you are not utilizing them, you are an Ignorant Auditor!
